Ballater railway station is a former station of the village of Ballater in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. It was the nearest station to Balmoral Castle.
Opened on 17th October 1866 by the Aboyne and Braemar Railway by the Great North of Scotland Railway and contained Queen Victoria’s waiting room. It closed in February 1966
On 12th May 2015 the royal station was destroyed by a fire, destroying the majority of the station and damaging remaining ironmongery.
Mid Beds Locksmiths were contacted to help restore ironmongery and lock sets back to former glory. It was a fantastic project to get involved in and help restore this fabulous railway station.
