Diocesan Office of Lincoln, Old Palace, Lincoln
The Old Bishop’s Palace buildings including Edward King House at Lincoln Minster has been restored and refurbished for use as offices, conference rooms and hotel suites for staff and visitors to the Diocesan offices.
MBL provided a complete ironmongery schedule and supply service for the new modern ironmongery, conforming to current standards whilst reflecting and maintaining the original features of the building.
MBL was also engaged to install the most technical of door fittings.
The supplied ironmongery included door closers, lock cases, access control locks and a comprehensive master key system.
MBL also restored many original parts and fittings and replicated original door furniture including over one hundred timber knobs, brass roses and timber escutcheon plates.
MBL’s skill was also employed to cast replica brass handrail brackets and restore the original wrought iron gates to full working order.
